CEO Simon Julien Presents Latimer Controls at LEEP Demo Day 2026

Latimer Controls CEO Simon Julien presented at LEEP Demo Day 2026, sharing Latimer’s work on machine-learning software for solar grid flexibility and grid stability. The event brought together entrepreneurs from the U.S. Department of Energy’s Lab-Embedded Entrepreneurship Program to showcase emerging energy technologies developed with support from the national lab ecosystem. Simon presented through West Gate, the National Laboratory of the Rockies’ LEEP program, alongside other founders working on advanced energy and grid innovation.

Simon’s presentation focused on one of the central challenges facing a solar-powered grid: operators need to know how much power solar plants can actually provide in real time, including during curtailment and fast-changing weather conditions. Latimer’s Flexible Solar Management System uses existing plant telemetry and machine learning to estimate available solar capacity, helping utility-scale PV assets support grid reliability, market participation, and renewable integration.
